This morning we invited Wurundjeri elder, Uncle Colin Hunter, to perform a Welcome to Country with a smoking ceremony for the whole school. A smoking ceremony involves burning native plants to produce smoke; it's believed to have cleansing properties and the ability to ward off bad spirits. Many parents and carers joined all of our students and staff in the courtyard to experience the ceremony. In October each of the home groups visited the penguins at Phillip Island as part of their camping program. Thank you to our teachers for taking their students on camp and to the parents who accompanied them We have also held two working bees at Glen Forbes this term .
