EDIBLE GARDEN

'The Childish Plot' 

Reba Aldous is our Edible Garden Program Coordinator.

The Childish Plot nestles in a sunny corner at Spensley Street, next to the adventure playground. Children work with Reba to tend a garden of edible plants.

Each Friday one home group participates in the edible garden program. We use the polyhouse and surrounding gardens to sow, grow, harvest, prepare and share the produce from the Plot. 

Children discover how great food tastes when you grow it yourself.

The Plot was started in 2004 as an edible garden for children with additional needs. In 2008, the Edible Garden Program at Spensley Street was expanded to include all SSPS children, Prep - Year 6.
